Newport defeated visiting Colville 62-48 in a loser-out District 7 1A playoff game on Friday night.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a 19-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and despite the Indians run to cut the lead to seven with four minutes left to go in the game, Newport held on for a 14 point win.

Danny Bradbury finished with 20 points and four steals to lead Newport, and Ty McDaniel added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Newport plays top-seeded Freeman Tuesday night in the second round of District playoffs.
