Summary

Demi Jo Vaughn led Republic (20-1) with 18 points, including four three-point baskets, 11 rebounds, five steals and four assists, to earn her team a 69-48 win over Wellpinit in the first round of the District 7 1B tournament. Lily Beckwith scored 12 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assists for Republic. As a whole, Republic earned 10 three-pointers throughout the game.

Christian Carden earned 18 points and 11 rebounds for Wellpinit, while Fawn Ford and Jamie Pascal scored nine points.

With this victory, Republic advances to the next round of the District 7 1B tournament and will play Odessa-Harrington in Deer Park on Saturday. Wellpinit also advances into the consolation bracket and will play Cusick on Saturday in Deer Park as well.
