Summary

Liberty scored three runs in the seventh inning to pull ahead of Kettle Falls in the first game of a Northeast 2B league doubleheader on Saturday, winning 8-7.

Nate Burley hit a triple to drive in the Lancers' first run of the seventh inning, which was followed by a walk from Garrett VanSlyke, who later stole second to move into scoring position. A failed pickoff attempt at third by Deacon Cook allowed Liberty's game-tying and game-winning runs to cross home.

The Bulldogs took advantage of defensive mishaps to score four runs and pull ahead in the sixth inning.

Matthew Burley was 3-for-3 with a double, while starting pitcher Jake Pottratz gave up two earned runs in seven innings and struck out seven. Dylan Shine fanned 12 batters in six innings for the Bulldogs.
