Summary

The Kennedy Lancers (27-2) qualified for Saturday's State 3A semifinals with a 3-0 sweep of the Mt. Spokane Wildcats (18-9) at Kennewick's Toyota Center on Friday night. The Lancers used big streaks each game to pull away from the Wildcats, who will play a loser-out match at 9 a.m. Saturday against Holy Names (24-5). Mt. Spokane led the first game 11-9 before the Lancers finished on a 16-5 run. The Wildcats led the middle game 8-6 before Kennedy unleashed a 9-1 run. The Lancers used an 11-1 run to take charge in the final game. Sophomore Miahna had eight kills and six digs for the Wildcats.
