Summary

Lakeside stayed alive Friday with an 8-1 win over NEA foe Deer Park at the State 1A tournament.

Madi Naccarato launched a two-run homer, her second of the season, in the fifth to help the Eagles start to pull away. Erin Tiffany added an RBI triple during a four-run sixth, as the Lakeside bats provided more than enough support for McKensie Brittos, who capped off a marathon day with her second win.

Pitcher Kylie Sweeney picked up a pair of hits to pace the Stags.

Lakeside will continue their state run Saturday with a matchup against La Center at 11 a.m. Deer Park is eliminated.
