Summary

Lakeside pieced together two rallies and managed to hold on Friday to an 11-9 victory over Naches Valley in the opening round of the State 1A tournament in Richland.

Starting pitcher McKensie Brittos went 3 for 4 at the plate and scored a run and drove in another. Randi Zaro added an RBI on a pair of hits. The Eagles used a series of walks and singles to push across four in the second and six in the fourth, which provided enough of a cushion to withstand a late Naches Valley rally.

Lakeside moved to play Montesano later on Friday.
