Brandi Andrews came within one out of a no-hitter and finished with a two-hitter as Richland (21-3) defeated University 12-1 in a winner-to-state, loser-out game of the 4A regional tournament at Richland's Columbia Playfield. Andrews, who struck out six and walked two, recorded the first two outs of the seventh before Alex Douglas lined an opposite-field single to left field. Richland's Abby Perryman finished with four RBIs on a solo homer, two-run double and sacrifice fly. April Utecht, the state's all-time leading home run hitter, added three RBIs on a two-run homer and RBI double. Rachael Johnson of the Titans (18-6) walked to lead off the game and came around on stolen bases and a wild pitch.
