Summary

Freshman Alarah Pierce-Pulliam had three hits and Lind-Ritzville/Sprague used a big third inning to cruise past Kettle Falls and into the 2B regional tournament with 15-3, five-inning victory at Merkel Complex on Tuesday.

The Broncos jumped ahead early with four runs in the second and extended the lead to 12 with eight in the third. The first seven batters reached base for LRS in the second, starting with three straight singles. Pitcher Jana Mattox followed the trio of singles with a two-RBI double.

Mattox, a senior captain, finished with three strikeouts and two walks in the circle.

The Broncos survived their second straight loser out game, after defeating Reardan 8-3 on May 12.

LRS will be the fifth seed at the 2B regional tournament that starts Saturday at Merkel.
