Summary

Garrett Schmerer had the game-winning RBI on a perfectly executed squeeze bunt, Mitchell Rhodes added an insurance run with an RBI double, and University beat Gonzaga Prep 7-5 in extra innings at Walla Walla to earn the final 4A berth to state.

The Titans got off to a fast start, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning behind a Jared Smith RBI single and a two-run single from Cam Dwyer. After the Titans tacked on a run in the third, Gonzaga Prep battled back to within one after a three run fifth. After the Titans added a run in the sixth for a two-run lead, G-Prep scored two in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings and set up the dramatic finish.
