Summary

Bryan Braley hit a game-winning RBI single, Nathan Awbery escaped a bases-loaded jam to end the game, and University came from behind to beat Central Valley 4-3 in a 4A regional loser-out game at Walla Walla on Saturday.

After tying the game in the fifth inning, Bryce Williamson led off the Titans'-sixth with a single and moved to second on a Cam Dwyer sacrifice bunt. Braley followed with the go-ahead RBI single up the middle, setting up a dramatic top of the seventh. The Bears loaded the bases for cleanup hitter Austin Bergdahl, forcing a U-Hi pitching change. Awbery entered the game for starter Jared Smith, who scattered three hits across 6 2/3 innings, and struck out Bergdahl to end the game and the Bears' season. The Titans move on to play Gonzaga Prep for the final 4A berth to state this evening.
