Summary

Alex Douglas scattered seven hits over six innings, giving up no runs after the first inning, and threw three strikeouts while giving up only one walk as University defeated Central Valley 11-1 in the District 8 4A championship game. Gracee Dwyer went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI, Brooklynn Tacke went 2 for 2 with and run and two RBIs, Alex Surby had two runs and an RBI and Kirsten Anstrom had two runs and two RBIs. For Central Valley, Shayla Vegas went 2 for 3 with an RBI double in the first inning.

With the win, University next plays at noon May 23 in Richland in a winner-to-state game. Central Valley also advances as the second seed and will play noon May 23 at Richland against Tuesday's winner between Mead and MCC No. 2.
