Summary

McKabe Cottrell and Jake Phipps combined on a one-hitter, and Freeman advanced to the District 7 1A championship with a 5-0 win over visiting Medical Lake on Wednesday.

Cottrell started and struck out eight over four hitless innings. Phipps added five punch-outs in relief and picked up the save.

Phipps also provided the key hit, as he lashed a two-out, two-run triple during the Scotties' three-run first. Ian Johnston added two RBIs on a 2-for-3 night and Chance Halstead was 2 for 2 with a double.

Freeman will now host Colville Saturday in the District championship, while Medical Lake will face Deer Park in a loser-out game the same day.
