Aaron Fritts pitched nine strong innings, Alex Rivera hit a walk-off RBI double in the tenth, and Republic earned a berth to state with a 3-2 District 9 1B victory over Pomeroy at Davenport on Tuesday.

Fritts allowed one earned run with 13 strikeouts for the Tigers, who will play on Saturday in a state seeding game. Fritts also had two hits including an RBI triple in the first inning.

Pomeroy will play in a loser out game on Friday against Odessa-Harrington.
