Summary

Cael McKeirnan was dominant on the mound for Gonzaga Prep as the Bullpups cruised to a 5-0 District 8 4A semifinal win over Central Valley.

McKeirnan struck out the first four batters he faced on Thursday at Avista Stadium on his way to a complete-game, six strikeout performance. The senior stymied CV, allowing only one batter to reach second base, as he scattered five Bears' hits.

Jordan Rathbone got G-Prep on the board early with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Jack Machtolf extended the Bullpups' lead with an RBI single in the second.

Gonzaga Prep benefited from three unearned runs to advance to the district championship on Friday, where it will meet the winner of Thursday's Mead-University game.

Central Valley falls into Friday's loser-out game against the Mead-U-Hi loser.
