Summary

Senior Colton Vining pitched five shutout innings and drove in three runs at the plate to lead host Colville to a 17-0 win over Chewelah in a Northeast A opener on Tuesday.

The Indians (3-0, 1-0 NEA) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Vining, a first-team all-state running back, needed only 62 pitches to finish the five-inning complete game, striking out seven while issuing no walks.

Jacob Morris and Josh Harvey collected two hits apiece for Colville, while Justin Dragovich had three RBIs in the game. The Indians scored eight and six runs in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, to put the game out of reach.

Chewelah begins the season 0-1 with the loss.
