Jill Townsend scored 17 of her game-high 19 points in the second half and Okanogan defeated Wahkiakum 59-52 in the State 2B title game Saturday at the Arena.
Jordyn Boesel added 17 points -- 13 coming in the first half -- and Alexis Jones chipped in 11, including two early 3-pointers during the Bulldogs' game-opening 11-0 run. Wahkiakum eventually worked itself back into the game, but each time it looked like the Mules might make a run to tighten things up, Okanogan would respond.
Townsend, who averaged 20 points per game this season, picked up two fouls in the first half and sat for a majority of the second quarter.
The Mules made 18 of 23 free throws to stay within striking distance, but could never mount a rally. Wahkiakum's Peyton Souvenir had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists and Sam Boyce added 11 points and five boards.
