Summary

Annie Brouwer netted 30 points, and Sunnyside Christian beat Republic 71-59 to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season in the 1B semifinals.

The Knights used an early 8-0 lead to create separation and led 18-7 after the first. They would never surrender that lead, although the Tigers got within one at 41-40 late in the third. SC again answered with a run, as Brouwer twice stole the ball and raced the other way for a layup during an 11-4 spurt. Republic never got closer than five after that.

Kristen Broersma added a double-double for the Knights with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
