Summary

The momentum was up for grabs, and Jim Townsend and the Okanogan Bulldogs claimed it.

After a back and forth first half, Okanogan opened the third quarter on a 17-2 run and fended off Auburn Adventist's late charge in a 72-67 2B consolation victory.

Townsend poured in 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting and added 11 rebounds. Mayson Guerrette added 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Falcons 26-8 in the third.

The Falcons staged an unlikely fourth-quarter rally to make things interesting. Charlie Fletcher hit a 3-pointer with 2:02 left in the fourth to bring Auburn Adventist within five points, and hit again from long range with 32.7 seconds left to cut the lead to three, but the Falcons ran out of gas.

In its attempt to get back into the game, Auburn Adventist hoisted 29 second-half 3-pointers, connecting on nine.

Fletcher scored a team-high 26 points and Gabe Chaikin added 19, but shot just 6 of 25 from the field.
