Summary

Seattle Lutheran used a third-quarter surge to pull away and advance past Cusick Thursday in the 1B quarterfinals.

The Panthers started well, as a nifty behind-the-back pass in transition from Chad BrownEagle to Alec Bluff led to a layup and an early 10-4 lead.

But the Saints used some hot shooting to move in front. Josh Meyer drained a pair of three-pointers, and SL led 26-24 at the half.

The Saints opened the third on a 14-0 run. Cusick went over five minutes without scoring and never recovered. Bluff was plagued by foul trouble throughout, and fouled out with 4:45 left, long after the game was decided.

Meyer hit three threes to led the Saints with 12 points and 10 rebounds. BrownEagle finished with 12 points, 11 boards and six assists for the Panthers.
