Summary

David Olds and Northwest Christian opened 2B boys play Thursday at the Arena with a convincing victory over the Auburn Adventist Falcons.

Olds hit 9 of 13 shots, including 3 of 6 3-pointers, and scored 23 points and Ryan Ricks added 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds as the Crusaders built a big first-half lead and cruised to a 75-43 win.

It was a relieving rout for NWC, which saw its state run end early last year with two consecutive narrow losses.

The Crusaders got their offense in gear quickly. NWC made 16 of 24 first-half shots and led 43-20 at the break. Auburn Adventist made just 6 of 24 shots in the second half, unable to mount a rally.

The Falcons were led by Gabe Chaikin's 15 points.
