Summary

Curlew held off a strong second-half rally from Northport to claim a Northeast 1B North victory, 58-55, on the road Friday evening. After the Cougars jumped to a 36-23 lead in the first half, the Mustangs came out firing in the third, outscoring Curlew 17-8. The Cougars, however, were able to hold on in the fourth.

Curlew had a trio of players reach double figures led by Aaron McCullough's 17 points. Mathan Knapp poured in 14 points and Coby Grumbach added 12.

Vithor Marin led Northport with 20 points, including five during the third-quarter charge. Breno Santos also had a strong third quarter, adding six of his eight points. Patrick Lamb pulled down nine rebounds, eight in the second half, to go with his 12 points.
