Summary

Amanda Chan netted 22 points as Mead remained in a three-way tie for second in the GSL with a 71-56 win at Ferris on Friday.

The Panthers broke open a close game with a 22-10 run in the third quarter, as the Saxons went cold from the field. Ferris cut the lead to eight in the fourth, but Mead iced the game with eight-of-nine free-throw shooting in the final stanza.

Aaliyah Pauling added 15 points for the Panthers, while Sue Winger tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Bria Bowton led the Saxons with 19 points and eight assists, Kayla Sharp contributed 11 points and Lexi Erickson totaled 10.

Mead's win keeps them tied with Central Valley and Lewis and Clark in the league standings, three games back of unbeaten Gonzaga Prep.
