Summary

Elle Burland and Skylar Bastin scored 10 points each as East Valley held off visiting Pullman 39-37 Saturday in the GNL opener for each school.

Bastin also had seven rebounds, and Jordan Phelan chipped in four points and nine boards for the Knights.

EV built a 35-21 lead through three quarters, but had to withstand a 16-4 rally from the visitors in the final period. A pair of free throws by Emily Fletcher gave the Knights a four-point cushion in the final minute, which rendered a late bucket by the Greyhounds meaningless.

Emily Drake tallied a game-high 16 points for Pullman, and she and Savannah Paul both seized 11 rebounds.
