Lakeside of Seattle's one-two punch of Daejon Davis and Isiah Brown was too much for Rogers, as the Lions overcame the Pirates 76-63 Saturday in a 3A regional round of state game at Mt. Spokane.
Lakeside's win books them a trip to Tacoma on Thursday for the state quarterfinals.
Davis led all scorers with 27 points. He shot 9-of-15 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds.
Brown added 24 points on eight-of-nine free-throw shooting with 10 boards.
After a strong start to the game by the Pirates, the Lions used a 19-1 first-half run to take control. They led 40-30 at the half and never relinquished the lead, despite a couple Rogers runs.
Robert Rucker tallied 21 points to lead the Pirates, and Melik Hampton added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
