Summary

Jessica Ludwig notched 20 points, and Arlington pulled away in the second half to best Shadle Park 52-35 Saturday in the 3A regional round of state at Mt. Spokane.

The Eagles now advance to the state quarterfinals next week in Tacoma, while the Highlanders are out.

Shadle Park trailed 26-25 at halftime, but couldn't keep up with Arlington in the later stages. Ludwig converted nine-12 shots from the floor and also snatched a game-high 10 rebounds. The Eagles outrebounded the Highlanders 40-27. Sevi Bielser added 17 points on five three-pointers.

Shyla Carr led Shadle with 13 points before fouling out. Sofia Pizzillo and Abby Bauernfeind added eight points apiece.
