Summary

Alec Bluff scored 19 points and gathered 10 rebounds, and Cusick used a big fourth quarter to top Garfield-Palouse 59-51 Saturday at Mt. Spokane in a 1B regional round of state game.

With the win, Cusick advances to the state quarterfinals, which will take place Thursday at the Spokane Arena.

The Panthers trailed 36-34 entering the final period, but put together a 25-15 frame to snatch the win.

Cusick was able to pull off the win despite being outrebounded 37-30. They shot 46% (23-of-50) from the field while holding the Vikings to 32.8% (20-of-61).

Tyson Shanholtzer chipped in 13 points and four assists for the Panthers, while Spirit White had 10 points and seven boards.

Mitch Jamison notched a team-high 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Gar-Pal. Cole Sanderson added 11 points, Matt Holbrook scored 10 and Tyler Thurman tallied eight points and 11 boards.
