Summary

Colton turned to the 3-point shot to extend its unbeaten run and take another step toward a seventh straight state title.

Zoe Moser scored 22 points and the Wildcats defeated Almira/Coulee-Hartline 68-43 Friday in the 1B regional round of state at Cheney High.

The win qualifies Colton (24-0) for the state quarterfinals on Thursday at the Spokane Arena. The Wildcats also pushed their state-record winning streak to 68 games.

Moser set the tone early, as she ripped off 10 straight points in the first quarter to stake Colton to an early 14-6 lead. She ended up with 20 points at the half and hit four 3-pointers. The Wildcats connected on 11 triples as a team. Mary Ann Jacobs and Kendyl Druffel tacked on 11 points each for the victors.

Senior Reinnee Rockett scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Warriors (18-6) in her final game. Brenna Oliver added 10 points.
