Summary

Riverside stayed alive as they held off Freeman 61-59 Saturday in a District 7 1A Tournament game.

The result means the Rams will participate in the regional round of state next weekend, while the Scotties see their season end.

Kevin Huggins led Riverside with 20 points, as he shot 10-of-14 from the field. Andrew Kramer added 19 points, and Tyler Axtell had eight points and and 10 rebounds.

The Rams were put to the test late, as Jake Phipps' three-pointer cut the lead to just one with 50 seconds remaining. But Brandon Morris was able to make four free throws, his only points of the game, to close out the win.

Riverside shot 51% from the floor, and had 16 assists to just eight turnovers.

Ryan Maine notched a game-best 23 points from Freeman, while Phipps had 14 and Jack Paukert scored 13.
