Summary

After a poor first quarter that produced only three points, Shadle Park emphasized defensive pressure and held Mt. Spokane to single-digit scoring in the three remaining quarters to claim a 43-34 victory and a spot among the final 16 teams in the 3A State Tournament.

Shyla Carr, who averages about 18 points a game was held to eight, but a balanced scoring effort by the Highlanders helped them clinch the victory. Sofia Pizzillo led the Higlanders with nine points, Carr and Abby Bauernfeind had eight each and Willow Risinger added seven.

Jaidyn Lyman led Mt. Spokane with ten points and Jordan Smith added seven.
