Summary

Timberlake moved within a game of a state championship on Friday, as the Tigers dashed past Filer 67-44 in the 3A semifinals at Nampa.

On this occasion, it was the one-two punch of Allison Kirby and Keelie Lawler that did most of the offensive damage. Kirby knocked in a game-high 23 points and also dished out six assists. Lawler netted 20 points.

After a close first quarter ended up with the Tigers ahead 16-13, Timberlake methodically pulled away over the second and third periods and was able to rotate its squad, as 11 players saw action and 10 drew double-figure minutes.

The Wildcats were paced by Haley Ackerman's 13 points.

Timberlake will face either Sugar-Salem or Shelly in Saturday's championship bout.
