Summary

Cassidy Hagel notched 17 points, and Medical Lake staved off elimination with a 40-36 win against Chewelah on Friday in the District 7 1B Tournament at West Valley.

A 15-8 fourth quarter run helped put the Cardinals over the top, as they got key contributions from several players. Bradyn Wegner tacked on eight points and Glori Cheevers netted seven.

Maggie Cobb and Kaitlyn Krouse scored eight points each to lead the Cougars.

Chewelah's season ended with the loss, while Medical Lake will play Colville on Saturday.
