Summary

Madi Schoening scored 20 points, and Sandpoint rode a big third quarter to a 49-41 win over Kuna in the 4A State quarterfinals Thursday at Boise.

The game was deadlocked at 22 entering halftime, but a 17-6 surge in the third from the Bulldogs gave them the margin they needed to survive and advance. Grace Kirscher added 12 points for Sandpoint, which committed just five turnovers while forcing 15 by the Kavemen.

The Bulldogs will await the winner of the Century/Minico contest in Friday semifinals at 8:00 MST.
