Summary

Jacey Johnson scored 23 points to lead Oakesdale to a 52-34 victory over Liberty Christian in a District 9 1B elimination game on Tuesday in Clarkston.

After a poor shooting performance in the first half (7 for 34), the Nighthawks came out firing in the second half. Johnson scored 8 points in the third quarter to pace Oakesdale, which extended their 2-point halftime advantage to 11 after scoring 17 points in the period. Anne Hockett was strong inside for the Nighthawks in the pivotal third quarter, as they held the Patriots to 8 points.

Tatiana Mendoza, who chipped in 10 points, led Oakesdale in rebounds with nine and Johnson grabbed 8.

Raylene Monteith led Liberty Christian with 12 points.

Oakesdale advances to play on Friday against the winner of Tuesday night's game between SJE and Pomeroy.
