Summary

Michael Hannan and Cameron Tucker fueled Central Valley on Tuesday as the Bears defeated host Chiawana 73-61 in a 4A subregional game.

Hannan led all scorers with 25 points, including 14 in the second quarter, and Tucker knocked in 23.

The game featured a wild first quarter, where the teams combined to make nine three-pointers and score 43 points. All six of CV's long-balls came in that period. The Bears led by just two, 38-36, at halftime, but clamped on the defense in the third, limiting the Riverhawks to 13% (2/15) shooting from the floor. They extended their lead to 52-41 and were able to maintain that through the fourth quarter.

Tucker also had 15 rebounds, while Hannan grabbed 11. CV outrebounded their hosts 41-27.

Central Valley will have a chance to avenge last weeks' loss to rival University, as they next visit the Titans on Friday evening.
