Summary

Tyler Axtell tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and host Riverside rallied to vanquish Deer Park on Saturday in the opening round of the District 7 1A Tournament.

The Rams were on the brink of elimination, as they trailed the Stags 34-28 entering the fourth period. But they turned it around with a 24-8 burst in the final quarter. Brandon Morris hit three three-pointers in the fourth, and Andrew Kramer also scored nine in that period. Both finished with 13 points overall.

Deer Park was led by Daniel Paulson with 14 points and Nate Guske with 12. The Stags are finished, while Riverside will face Medical Lake on Tuesday. It will be the third time those two schools play each other in a week.
