Summary

Cody Grumbach and Aaron McCullough combined for 42 points and Curlew rode a 25-point fourth quarter to claim a 65-60 victory over Wellpinit to earn spot in the Northeast 1B District tournament championship on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Curlew hopped up to a six-point advantage in the first quarter, but Wellpinit turned the tables in the second to take a two point lead by halftime. Curlew mustered a 25-point fourth quarter to regain the lead and hold on, credited to 5-of-7 fourth quarter shooting from the field and going 14 of 18 from the line.

Hunter Beedle shot 3 of 4 from 3-point range in the second, and McCullough supplemented his 20-point outing with 11 boards on the night for Curlew, who will play Almira-Coulee-Hartline, which beat Odessa Harrington 86-43.
