Summary

The third time was the charm Saturday for the Selkirk girls.

Lexi Ellsworth netted 15 points, Hannah Rick chipped in 11 and the Rangers defeated Curlew 38-33 in the District 7 1B Tournament at Deer Park.

Selkirk had lost both of their regular season matchups with the Cougars.

This time around, Selkirk used some feisty defense and strong rebounding to tame Curlew. Rick added 11 rebounds and five steals to her stat line, and Anna Kotzian distinguished herself with five steals and some tough individual defense. The Rangers also committed a season-low 13 turnovers.

For the Cougars, Lindsay Gibson had a team-best 15 points and Kayleona Fanning tallied 10 points.

Selkirk will play Wellpinit on Wednesday, while Curlew is eliminated.
