Summary

Felix Tsai and Cade Peplinski made big plays down the stretch, and St. George's rallied to edge Wilbur-Creston 71-66 in overtime Thursday at Reardan in a District 7 2B postseason contest.

In a game that was close throughout, the Dragons faced a six-point deficit with 1:30 left in regulation. Peplinski stroked a three-pointer to get St. George's closer, and then Tsai converted a driving layup while being fouled, and made the subsequent free throw to tie the contest with 20 seconds left.

In overtime, Peplinski nailed another triple to tie the game, and Tsai helped StG eke out the win by making four-of-four free throws late on. Tsai finished with 18 points, and Peplinski had eight. His brother, Cody Peplinski contributed 17 while shooting six-of-six from the charity stripe before fouling out late in the game. The Wildcats relied heavily on Colton Magers, who led all scorers with 25 points. Nick Densley added 13, Trystan Rosman had 11 and Garet Townsend notched 10.

Both teams are in action again on Monday at the 2B subregionals at West Valley High School, where Wilbur-Creston plays Waitsburg-Prescott in a loser-out affair, and St. George's will battle either Liberty or Northwest Christian, with the winner booking a trip to state.
