Summary

Alex Douglas pitched a complete-game shutout, Kirsten Anstrom had two triples, and visiting University won a 5-0 Greater Spokane League softball game over Mead on Thursday to remain tied atop the league standings.

Douglas struck out six Panthers, scattering four hits and allowing no walks. The Titans (13-1 GSL) started the scoring early when Anstrom hit an RBI triple that scored Rachel Johnson from third base. Gracee Dwyer brought Anstrom home with a sacrifice fly to put University ahead 2-0 early. Anstrom finished the day 3-4 with two RBIs, adding an RBI single in the third. Dwyer added singled in a run in the fifth to finish with two RBIs.

The Titans will host Shadle Park (13-1) tomorrow that will break a tie at the top of the Greater Spokane League standings.
