Summary

Mead staged a late rally, and the Panthers overcame a power surge from Lewis and Clark to edge the visiting Tigers 8-7 on Thursday.

Taylor John, Jenna Brandkamp and Peris Ochsner all went deep for LC, and the visitors led 6-1 in the fourth inning.

But the Panthers chipped away at the lead, and went in front after back-to-back RBI triples by Erin Kautzman and Shannon Payne in the sixth. Meredith Clark then added a run-scoring single that ended up being the game-winner.

Kylie Bremner (9-2) struck out seven in relief to earn the win for Mead. Clark went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Kautzman was 2 for 2 and reached base four times, while Payne was 2 for 4.

John went 3 for 5 with a double, triple and homer and drove in two for LC, while Brandkamp finished 2 for 3.

Mead's win keeps them one game back of first-place University in the GSL standings.
