Summary

Down by 3 with 8.3 seconds left, the Crusaders could not get a good look at the basket, giving St. George's third place in the State 2B tournament with a 61-58 win at the Arena.

Hailey Higashi shined once again for St. George's. She shot 11 of 19 from the field, including 5 of 9 from three, to score 29 points to go along with eight rebounds.

The Dragons had an 11-point lead in the second quarter, but the Crusaders clawed back to make it a nail-biter in the final quarter.

The Crusaders outrebounded the Dragons 37-27, but St. George's shot 41 percent from the field compared to the Crusaders' 35.3 percent.

Courtney gray recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and Mackenzie Gray added 13 and six rebounds for Northwest Christian, who took fifth place with the loss.
