Summary

The Neah Bay Red Devils could not recover from a slow first half as the Pomeroy Pirates held on for the 59-50 win to earn a spot in the State 1B championship game.

After the Pirates went into halftime with a 17-point advantage, the Red Devils opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run to cut the lead to within 9, putting on the full-court pressure and getting easy transition buckets.

But the Pirates answered by opening the fourth quarter with a 13-2 run of their own to put the game out of reach.

Cody LaMunyan had a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards, and Riley Bott added 14 points for the Pirates.

Zeke Greene had a game-high 17 points for the Red Devils.

The championship game is at 7:00 p.m. Saturday against Colton at the Arena.
