Colfax shook off an extremely sluggish start and beat La Conner 49-28 in the first round of the girls State 2B tournament at the Arena.

The Bulldogs scored just three points in the opening quarter, but a 15-2 second-quarter run gave them a 23-11 halftime lead.

Nicole Sheer shot 12 of 20 from the floor and finished with 26 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds.

Anna Cook had 13 points and six boards for the Braves.
