Summary

The Coeur d'Alene girls basketball team used sticky man-to-man defense Tuesday to clamp down on the Lake City Timberwolves.

The Vikings used big first and fourth quarters to handle the Timberwolves 61-36 in a 5A Inland Empire League game at LC.

CdA used a short bench as its starters saw most of the minutes. Madison Sumner led the Viks (12-2 overall, 1-1 league) with 22 points and five rebounds, Sydney Williams had 16 points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals and Sarah Chalich chipped in 12 points.

Natalie Wheelock led LC (8-6, 1-1) with 11 points.
