Summary

Brandon Petterson scored nine of his team-high 12 points in the second half and added seven rebounds as Mead rallied from a 17-point deficit and then held off visiting Shadle Park in a Greater Spokane League game on Saturday.

The Highlanders (3-4, 3-3 GSL) led 28-11 with two minutes remaining in the first half when the Panthers (5-3, 4-2) began a 42-14 run that nearly reached the midway point of the fourth quarter. Shadle Park would not go away, however, as Skyler Kelley scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter and the Highlanders found themselves trailing by three in the final minute. With the shot clock winding down and 20 seconds remaining in the game, Anthony Gold found Thomas Kautzman for a three-pointer to seal the Mead victory.

Dale Hagan added 15 points for Shadle Park, which turned the ball over 20 times in the loss.
