Summary

Valley Christian held off a feverish Curlew comeback to in the fourth quarter to eliminate the Cougars and advance to a District 7 1B loser-out matchup with Wilbur-Creston at 1 p.m. Saturday at Deer Park.

Trailing 14-22 at the half and 22-36 after three quarters, Curlew applied full-court pressure and outscored the Panthers 28-16 in the fourth to make it interesting. Down 47-50, Cougars sophomore Gunner Brown was fouled attempting the game-tying 3-pointer. Brown made all three free throws to tie the game at 50. Valley Christian's Nick Cox followed by making a pair of game-winning free throws with 20 seconds remaining.
