Summary

Lakeland came from behind to defeat visiting Sandpoint 57-52 in the IEL 4A finale for both teams. The Hawks trailed 29-23 at halftime, but outscored the Bulldogs by 11 in the second half to secure the win.

Tyrel Derrick scored 17 points to lead the hosts, as he made nine out of 12 free throws. Derrick also dished out seven assists. Jake Ram added 13 points, and Jacob Plunkett recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.

Jeremiah Gagnon drained seven three-pointers as part of his game-best 23 points for Sandpoint.

The teams will face off again on Monday the 24th in the first round of the district tournament at North Idaho College.
