Summary

In a close district championship game, Lakeside's Cody Watkins hit a three with thirty seconds left to break the tie and put them ahead for good, defeating Riverside 63-59. Watkins' three served as an answer to Jesse Anselm's three three-pointers in the fourth quarter (one of which gave the Rams a short-lived one point lead with about 1:40 to go). Watkins, who finished with 14 points, was Lakeside's top scorer. Dominique Watson scored second-most, finishing with 13 points for the Eagles. For Riverside, foul troubles hurt their chances down the stretch. As a team, they had 21 fouls to Lakeside's 11. Most importantly, their leading scorer, Tyler Axtell, fouled in the final minute. Axtell finished with 29 points.
