Summary

Timberlake defeated St. Maries 46-44 thanks to a (almost) last second tip-in. The Lumberjacks had tied the score at 44 with 40 seconds left when the Tigers held the ball for one last shot. Keegan Scott missed the jumper with time winding down, but with two seconds left, Mason Cramer tipped it back home for the final score.

The sequence of missed shot and rebound was familiar, as Timberlake shot only 30% from the field in what turned into a defensive battle. Both Scott and Cramer finished with double-doubles: Scott with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Cramer with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

For the Lumberjacks, scoring came in bursts. Leighton Gertje scored the most points for St. Maries, finishing with 16, but 14 of those came in the first half alone. Cody Posselt finished with 11, but his points were primarily in the third quarter when he hit three three-pointers.

The two teams will play again on Thursday at St. Maries.
