Summary

Freshman Mike Ervin scored a career-high 28 points as Ferris came back to defeat visiting Chiawana 73-61 on Monday.

The Saxons (2-4) fell behind early due to the Riverhawks' (2-5) hot shooting, but were able to rally with some offense of their own in the second half.

Murphy Butte added 22 points for Ferris, while Jace Van Lierop hit three threes as part of his 15-point effort. Ervin and Butte tied for the team rebounding lead with eight apiece. The Saxons made five out of seven three-pointers after the break and put together a 46-26 second half.

David Torres led Chiawana with 21 points.
